Understanding Administrators

There are three types of administrators in Unison:

  1. Owners
  2. Standard
  3. View-Only

Owner Administrators

When a new Unison license is created, the person whose email address was used to sign up is the owner administrator for the license. Each Unison database has exactly one owner administrator.

Owners have some difference from other admins:

  • Owner administrators must have all admin permissions.
  • Owner administrators are the only ones who can view and edit the information on the Administrators page.

Creating new administrators

If you are the owner of your organization's Unison license, you can create a new administrator at any time by going to the Administrators pane and click on the "+ New Administrator" button in the upper right corner.

Editing administrators

Owners can edit an existing administrator's general information and permissions at any time by clicking the "Edit" button next to their name in the Administrators pane, or remove their access entirely by deleting them from the list of administrators.

Changing owners

If the current owner wishes to make a different admin into the owner, they can do so by clicking on the down arrow next to that admin's "Edit" button and selecting "Make owner." Because there can only be one owner per license, this will swap the admin type between the owner and other administrator, and the former owner will lose access to the Administrators page.

Standard Administrators

Standard administrators can be given the ability manage all or only specific opportunities in your database. To update their permissions from "All opportunities," simply remove that option and then select the opportunities they are managing from the drop down.

Additionally, their permissions can be customized on a per-admin basis:

Once added, standard administrators will receive an email with their login information and a link to the new admin video to help them get started.

View-Only Administrators

View-only administrators are not able to send emails or make changes to your organization's database. The only information a view-only admin can potentially change is the information in the Subscription pane, if they have been given the "Can manage plan and billing" permission.

To indicate an admin should be view-only, check the box in their profile.

Their permissions can also be customized on a per-admin basis:

Once added, view-only administrators will receive an email with their login information.
